Update to Student Portal
We’re happy to announce the release of new enhancements to the VETtrak Student Portal version 2.3. The Student Portal provides easy and effective communication between students and trainers and is available as a requested feature for users on the professional or enterprise licenses.
Read below to hear about the recently improved areas of the Student Portal:
Login Menu: you can now add an external link to an LMS, to the menu at the top of the Student Portal. This can be any external web address and the customised display text is limited to 15 characters. The screenshot below is a sample of one that could point to a Moodle LMS system.
Personal Details: students now have the ability to edit personal details from the portal, such as contact information, emergency contact details and the USI. You will have the option to send this through the quality assurance process for approval by a VETtrak administrator.
Awards: users can now view files saved against a student’s award when the document database is present. These may be PDF versions of the student’s statement or certificate, or other files.
Login: users can now reset passwords through an account recovery process. The password reset will send an email with a link. The link will take the student to a password recovery page. Passwords are set for students: they do not have the option to set one themselves.
Courses: we have added a training schedule tab alongside unit information so that students can view their training created in VETtrak with their planned start and finish dates for units, which includes the details of the assigned staff.
There have also been significant speed increases through changes to the underlying structure of the portal.
